We saw IV poles used to hang cables in operating rooms. We saw them used as privacy screens in field hospitals. We saw forgotten IV poles stacked in hospital basements. Nurses saw them as a nuisance. Patients saw them as a companion. We saw them as an opportunity.
No one expected innovation here. The product won an international design award. Patients and nurses around the world asked where they could buy one. The design helped people see CareFusion in a new way. CareStand reminded people CareFusion is always searching for ways to make lives better. All that attention started conversations that led to market share and better lives.
